A good parenting must consider the understanding about the preschool period of child. According to studies, preschool period of child's life cycle is vital to convey awareness. In every country, children often start school when they are just three years old and spend two years in the preschool or kindergarten section of the school before they start Year 1 - first grade - at the age of five or six. When it comes to learning, parents can help with number awareness - being able to recite from one to 10 is not the same as understanding the value and place of numbers. Talk to your child about quantities, for example, five is bigger than two. Concentrate on counting; playing dominoes and simple board games, such as Snakes and Ladders, will teach children how to count while making it fun.
These days color by number books can be found in various forms. You could choose among different fairy tales characters and/or animals, autos and so on and so forth. If your child is in love with Winnie-the-Pooh, then you may find a lot of colour by number games with the heroes of this toon.
Almost all types of alphabet coloring pages and printable materials feature school compatible Standard Block Print or D'Nealian Modern Block Print handwriting guidelines. Thus you don't have to worry about the standards of the coloring pages for children.
All types of alphabet coloring pages available over the internet are an extension of Preschool Alphabet activities and crafts work. They have been designed in such ways that create interest in the minds of children. Simply teaching the preschools with boring alphabets may have negative impact on them. They may not find things interesting and may feel that you go too strict with them when they cannot pronounce or write the letters or able to relate to objects or things that start with the any alphabet initially. For instance they may find it difficult to remember tough words like 'H for Horse or House or Home.' You may think it is silly, but remember they are small kids, what is easy for you may not be easy for them.
When I first start teaching toddlers colors, I like to start out simply. I will give my toddler a red crayon and a white sheet of paper. Allow your toddler to freely scribble on the paper. As they are coloring, reinforce the fact that their crayon is red by saying, "That is a pretty red picture," "Are you using a red crayon?" "This is red" or "See your red picture?" You can also find a printable picture of an object that is red like an apple, and have your toddler color that picture by giving them a red crayon. Another simple craft project that you can use to teach your toddler colors is to simply cut out circles from red construction paper and help your toddler glue them to a piece of paper.
In teaching anything to young children, repetition is the key! Colors is one of the first concepts that toddlers are capable of learning. The best way to introduce concepts like colors to toddlers is to continuously talk to your child about colors. This should go hand in hand with teaching your child to talk. Rather then simply saying, "Look at the puppy," use phrases like, "Look at the brown puppy", "See the brown puppy?" etc.
